HISTORY

Mountain Biking has been a key part of Windells and High Cascade Snowboard Camp since our founding in 1989. For skiers and snowboarders, mountain biking has always been a favorite off-snow activity to stay physically and mentally fit—few exploits provide a similar sense of cruising and exploring with your friends. After fun summer days on Mt. Hood’s Palmer snowfield, our staff and campers would explore the cobbled-together trails at Timberline, in Government Camp, Zig Zag, Rhododendron, Brightwood, and all points in between. In 1998, when Tim Windell purchased the 28-acre campus we call home today, he and guys like Kris Jamieson started exploring our terrain and building a system of trails and features.

For the next twenty years, our campers and staff continued build trails and features on the Wy’east campus simply as a passionate hobby. Riders flocked to our terrain, which be found in classic videos such as:

AntHill Films’ Follow Me

BOM’s Women of Dirt

Chain Link Productions’ Barred for Life

In 2019, we were fortunate enough to connect with Cody Wilkins and Cam Zink at R.A.D. Trails, who are incredibly passionate about improving trail systems and equipment, while fostering the mountain biking community to make it more welcoming and accessible for all. The timing was perfect and now, working with Cam and Cody to provide the most authentic experience, we are proud to launch Milepost35 Mountain Bike Camp for summer 2020.
